Our mission is to nurture connection, build resilience, and create a sense of belonging for children navigating the unique challenges of having an incarcerated parent or caregiver.
We strive to provide opportunities for children to develop friendships, express themselves, and experience the joys of childhood without judgment or stigma. By bringing families and community partners together, we hope to build a lasting network of understanding and support.
Bridge & Bloom is a peer-led community initiative dedicated to supporting children impacted by parental or caregiver incarceration throughout Idaho's Treasure Valley.
We believe every child deserves friendship, understanding, and a place where they feel they belong. Through welcoming gatherings, shared experiences, and meaningful connections, we bring children and families together in an environment built on compassion, acceptance, and community.
Bridge & Bloom was founded on a simple belief: No child should ever feel ashamed of loving someone they miss.
Unlike traditional support groups centered around adult experiences, Bridge & Bloom places children at the heart of everything we do. Our approach is peer-led, child-focused, and rooted in real-world connection rather than clinical treatment.
Through creative activities, community outings, and shared experiences, we create opportunities for children to meet others who understand their circumstances—without pressure to explain their family situations or share personal stories.
Here, children are free to simply be children, form friendships, and discover they are not alone.
Bridge & Bloom began with a mother's determination to create something she couldn't find for her own daughter.
After watching her child experience heartbreaking cruelty simply for expressing how much she missed her incarcerated father, our founder recognized a need that went far beyond traditional support groups.
She envisioned a community where children could form friendships, express their feelings without fear of judgment, and experience childhood without carrying the stigma of someone else's circumstances.
What began as one mother's promise to her daughter is growing into a community built on compassion, understanding, privacy, and belonging.
